The Steele County Humane Society does not have a shelter. All our pets stay at loving foster homes in the community until we find permanent homes for them. Potential adopters are very welcome to meet our animals in their foster home environment. Our foster families try to be flexible when scheduling visits, so that our animals have every opportunity to be adopted. Nights and weekends are usually not a problem.
If you are interested in meeting an animal posted on our website, just contact us by phone (507-451-4512) or email us at Information@steelecountyhumanesociety.org. We will provide you with the name and phone number of the animal’s foster family, and you can set up a time to meet the pet at the foster home. You may complete the application at that time or choose one of the options below and adopt the animal directly from the foster home.
|Kittens||*under 5 months of age||$150|
|Puppies||*under 6 months of age||$230|
All of our animals are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee helps pay for the following items and services:
- Food and any necessary Medication
- Spaying or Neutering
- Age-appropriate Vaccinations
- Feline Leukemia Test for Cats
- Heartworm Test for Dogs
- Free checkup at any Steele County veterinary office within 3 days of adoption
